It starts eventually on the 3rd or 4th turn regardless of outside temp. Once it does start, there is blue smoke from exhaust which last for about 10 I have 2007 2.0 tdci 140 Mondeo Ghia with 75000 miles on the clock whilst driving earlier in the day an engine malfunction warning came up I pulled over and had a look under the bonnet at the wiring connections on the sensors i could find all ok there so drove home there was no loss of power or anything untoward going on I have the following problem with my Mondeo: ONLY and ONLY in 2nd gear when driving at constant speed the car accelerates by itself for 1 or 2 seconds every 3 or 4 seconds. So it is absolutely impossible to drive it with constant speed in the second gear. The car has absolutely no problem in 1st, 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th gear. I had a similar problem - system was bled but after a month the problem began again. I had the fuel pipe from the filter to the engine pump renewed [ v expensive as pipe was £100 plus] but not had the problem since. I surmise that the seal had deteriorated where the pipe clips onto the outlet of the filter. Now been ok for 5 weeks.
